Game Designer and Writer

A look into the projects, work, and qualifications of a video game narrative designer.

Fallout New Pheonix

Following the events of Fallout: New Vegas and based on heavily-altered D&D 5E rules, Fallout New Phoenix is a TTRPG system and campaign set in the Fallout Universe.

Take on the role of a party captured by the Legion immediately following the wake of the Battle of Hoover Dam, and find yourself caught in a Civil War as you must resist or escape Legion captivity to bring about their fall, or join the Legion and help a phoenix rise from the ashes of their destruction.

Level Design and World Building

Be it small towns, natural environs, or packed dense cities, players always have a variety of locations to explore, discovering stories of atomic war survivors or recent denizens of the American wasteland while also forging their own.

Narrative Design and Worldbuilding

Be it to ensure immersion or help provide hints for encounters and puzzles, there are no shortage of audio logs, text documents, old journals, etc. that players may find across their journeys.

Character/Enemy Design and Balancing

Creating characters and other NPCs for party-members to come across and deal with as they see fit, requiring a good deal of care in encounter design and balancing to ensure fun, challenging, and engaging content.

Implementation

Implementation of maps, character, stat blocks, etc. into programs usable by all players to ensure consistent and entertaining gameplay.
